Scammers, oh what fun.

I do love playing games with the Nigerian and Malaysian scammers. it is so easy sometimes to forget this is a real problem and some idiots really do fall for these. understandably it is mostly older people. or people who do not understand and do not think before they react. however here are some things I do to keep my money and scammers well separated.

  1. First create a self regulation policy on who you send money to. My favorite one is I NEVER send money to a person i have never met in person. I let people know this rule up front. and am honest about it. this rule applies to all non-corporate interactions. regardless of my feelings. this rule is also one of the reasons i don't do ebay.
  2. Do not spend money to work for someone else. pretty basic rule that all of the get rich schemes fail with.  if you are not ending up with a business license for your own company at the end of the spending. you are spending money in the wrong company.
  3. when all else fails if you have ANY doubts bail out.
